About the Department:

The Department of Geography, Chakdaha College, Chakdaha, was established in the year 1997. Initially, the Department only offered General Course in Geography. In 2011, the Department started offering an Honours course in Geography under the University of Kalyani. The faculty strength of the Department consists of one sanctioned teaching post and three SACTs. All the teachers in the department are very much dedicated to imparting the best of their teaching to the students and put in their hard-hearted effort to bring out the best in the students. Moreover, the department is regularly engaged in serious academic exercises like invited lectures, seminars by eminent Geographers & Academicians, Social Awareness Programme and Educational tours etc.
